How does the AHC address issues?
Working Groups. The AHC forms working group to engage public and private sector operations professionals and leaders in safe, trusted discussions on any issues that is common to all participants. The chartered working groups can be regional/national, focus on a specific sector or issue, and involve any combination of public and/or private sector stakeholders.
Establish Clear, Attainable Goals. The working groups are directed to establish clear, simple, operationally relevant short/mid/long-term objectives based on a mutually agreed to governance structure, work plan, and results timelines.
Identify & Prioritize Operational Issues. Determine the common issues, prioritize the top 1-2, and begin working on the short-term (3-6 months), mid-term (6-12months), and long-term (18-24 months) solutions.
Research, Develop, Test & Implement. Leveraging existing efforts, stakeholders work to test and re-test solutions before going operational. Yet in some cases, testing solutions in a live event(s) provides the greatest feedback and accelerates adjustments and adoption.
Leverage Capabilities. Stakeholders can leverage the AHC’s vast network of public and private sector leaders, managers, researchers, partners, and other stakeholders for information, and experience. The AHC also provides access to meeting/facilitation services, informational databases, federal/state partner information and a virtual library of lessons learned and solutions deployed.
Produce Solutions. Producing operational and/or usable solutions is key to sustainment of stakeholder engagement. Solutions may vary from enhanced processes, data products, directories, web portals, documents/guides, research, funded projects and initiatives. •
Educate Stakeholders. Once solutions are produced, education of stakeholders to each solutions is a never ending process. Sustaining the education process is critical to adoption of a solution and realizing the operational impacts and benefits. The AHC and its working groups all participate in the educational process via conference briefing, emails, webinars, conference calls, and white papers.
Case Studies. Stakeholders meet periodically to produce case studies for each solution after it is in use. This is an effective way to educate and promote adoption.
