With the increasing Supply Chain “just in time” approach for critical and high cost healthcare items an understanding of supply chain constraints and gaps during major disasters has become critical for emergency operations. The dependency on international sources and specialized transportation has increased vulnerability. Understanding scenarios impacting manufacturers, distributors and healthcare end users could help address long term shortages in the future.
